Seiko Astron SSJ014

The Seiko Astron SSJ014 is a men's GPS solar watch. Astron takes its name from the Seiko Quartz Astron of 1969, the world's first quartz wristwatch.

It runs on Seiko caliber 3X62, a GPS solar movement that sets itself by satellite signal and is charged by light. The movement has 10 jewels. Fully charged, it runs for approx. 6 months (up to approx. 2 years in power-save mode). Rated accuracy is ±15 seconds per month (without receiving a GPS signal and at temperatures between 5°C and 35°C). Functions include overcharge prevention, power save, perpetual calendar to the February 28, 2100, power reserve indicator, GPS signal reception function (time zone adjustment, automatic time adjustment, manual time adjustment) and satellite acquisition status display among others.

The titanium case, finished with a super-hard coating, measures 41.2 mm wide, 12 mm thick and 48.5 mm from lug to lug. Lug width is 14 mm. The dial is protected by sapphire crystal, with a super-clear coating. Seiko's LumiBrite luminous paint is applied to the hands and indexes for legibility in the dark. It comes with an easy-adjust three-fold clasp with push button release. Other details include against an allergic reaction to nickel and screw case back.

The watch is water resistant to 100 m (10 bar). It weighs 110 g.
