Seiko Prospex SJE101 – Marinemaster 1965 Diver’s Modern Re-interpretation

The Seiko Prospex SJE101 from the Marinemaster line is a men's automatic watch. Seiko lists it as “Marinemaster 1965 Diver’s Modern Re-interpretation”. Prospex is Seiko's collection of professional-specification sports watches for land, sea and air.

It runs on Seiko caliber 6L37, an automatic movement that can also be wound by hand. The movement has a power reserve of approx. 45 hours and 26 jewels. Rated accuracy is +15 to -10 seconds per day. Functions include 28, 800 vibrations per hour (8 beats per second) and stop second hand.

The stainless steel case measures 39.5 mm wide, 12.3 mm thick and 47.2 mm from lug to lug. Lug width is 20 mm. The dial is protected by box shaped sapphire crystal, with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface. Seiko's LumiBrite luminous paint is applied to the hands, indexes and bezel for legibility in the dark. It comes with a three-fold clasp with secure lock, push button release with extender. Other details include unidirectional rotating bezel, screw-down crown and see-through and screw case back.

This is a diver's watch water resistant to 200 m (660 ft) and magnetic resistant to 4,800 A/m. It weighs 155 g.
